A Random Excerpt: Love Bleeding

The knocks at the door came in quick succession as if someone was expected to be home. She didn't want to answer it but there was no choice, he would be back if not today then tomorrow. It was now or never.
Taking slow measured steps towards the door clutching a crescent shaped blade close to her chest. There was no need to spy through the peephole, she knew exactly who it was. Her hand reached out and wrenched the door open!
He quickly grabbed her into a bear hug.
He could feel his chest getting wet and a stinging pain soon took hold. Pulling away  he could see a gleam coming from his chest and stumbled backwards.
She backed away slowly,"I warned you not to come find me."
"I...I," was all he could sputter through the taste of blood seeping from his mouth. He collapsed to the floor and from his pocket rolled a box.
Her eyes went wide,"Barry..."
This was a mistake, it was all a mistake! From the beginning...
